FAQ's

Q. Why Cork Niche Fragrances

We believe that it was only fair for our city to be also recognized as a shopping place for fine Perfumery.

Q. What does 'EDP' mean?

A. 'EDP' stands for 'eau de parfum' which is a version of a perfume that is less concentrated with fragrant natural oils than parfume, but is still higher concentrated than EDT. People with sensitive skin should use EDP sparingly.

Q. What does 'EDT' mean?

A. 'EDT' stands for 'eau de toilette' which is a version of a perfume that is far less concentrated with fragrant natural oils than parfum/EDP.

 Q. What is an 'Olfactive family'?

A. Olfactive families help categorize the notes, which are descriptors of scents. It's an easy way to break down and class how a perfume smells rather than what it contains.

Q. What is the difference between 'niche' {nee-shuh} and 'designer' perfume?

A. Niche perfume is perfume made by houses dedicated primarily to creating perfume, as opposed to perfume from fashion houses or 'designer' houses.

Q. What are 'head notes', 'heart notes' and 'base notes'?

A. These terms are how you breakdown the level of scent in a fragrance. Head notes are what you smell immediately when the perfume first touches your skin. Once this fades, the heart notes kick in to form the essence of the perfume. Base notes are the scent that lasts the longest and is the one you remember most.
