500 years ago, the Renaissance marked the rebirth of the arts and sciences. These are centuries of opening of new maritime routes that bring new materials from America and Asia to Europe. Alchemy and perfumery are growing rapidly. In 1533, Catherine de Médicis married the Duke of Orléans and made perfumed court gloves fashionable.
